SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

Interns will assist Rola's administrative staff with expanding Rola's web presence, growing our student base, and educational content promotion in the United States and abroad, through the use of social media, online marketing, and direct outreach. Tasks may include composing Facebook, Instagram, and blog posts, helping develop Rola's social media strategy, and communicating with potential clients.

Undergraduate or graduate students with backgrounds in social media and marketing, either from studies or prior work experience, are encouraged to apply. Bilingual Spanish, French, or Portuguese speakers preferred.

CURRICULUM INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

The curriculum design intern will help develop Rola’s curriculum for Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and Mandarin classes. Duties will include creating language workbooks, editing existing materials to improve pedagogy, contributing to e-course development, and helping produce long-term strategies for course plans (tangible deliverables you will have at the end of your internship to show your work!). This internship is ideal not only for aspiring teachers, but also for students interested in educational publishing and curriculum work.

Undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in education and a background in foreign languages or language education — either from studies or prior work experience — are encouraged to apply. Must be fluent in English, as well as either French, Spanish, or Portuguese.

ROLA METHOD TEACHING INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

The Rola Method, created by Rola's founder and director, is a progressive teaching method that promotes fluency through repetition. Developed with the needs of our adult students in mind, it was designed to increase retention and confidence.

Our method focuses on 3 parts and is reflected in the structure:

  1. Vocabulary Building/Repetition

  2. Verb Drills/Grammar

  3. General Conversation/Fluency

The intern will study this method (both in theory & in practice) and further develop our teaching manual and program for its application, as well as conduct teacher

training workshops. Deliverables include documentation you write as well as training materials (PPT & other formats), with the option of recordings of teacher workshops you lead.

EDUCATION & TECHNOLOGY INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

The intern's job is to assist with the application of technology to all courses. We are a content-focused, conversation-based program. However, due to the dynamic nature of our courses, we sometimes neglect the technology components (i.e. third party apps and software, YouTube videos, audio/visual, etc.). The intern will do an analysis of our live courses and advise the appropriate technology for each course and class; studying our video conferencing software, class group online platform, and incorporation of our YouTube and social media content. In addition to live classes, the education & technology intern will also assist in our (recorded) e-course development in the selection of platforms and content creation for new courses.
