As a growing company, RoLa is always looking for new teachers and assistants! We offer an exciting opportunity to teach your native language on a flexible schedule. All our teachers are trained in the RoLa Method and have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students. Interested in doing an internship? We look for self-motivated students, hard-working individuals and startup enthusiasts to get on board.

OPEN POSITIONS

TEACHER/TUTOR

We are seeking part-time (5-10 hr./week) teachers for individual tutees, Skype lessons, and small-group classes. Must be fluent in English as well as the target language; native speakers preferred. Access to Skype is mandatory.

We are looking for someone who is very professional, punctual, honest, hardworking and a natural leader. Confidence is important. The candidate should also be comfortable in a classroom setting, and ideally have had teaching or tutoring experience.

Pay is hourly and negotiable depending on experience. Our classes are mostly in the evenings, but we occasionally have a need for morning and weekend teachers.

INTERNSHIPS

As a growing company, RoLa is always looking for interns! We offer the chance to work in a dynamic startup environment and gain rewarding educational experience and useful business skills. All our interns work approximately 15 hours a week with flexible schedules. Interns must be fluent in English and have at least a working knowledge of Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

Interns will assist RoLa's administrative staff with expanding RoLa's web presence and customer base in the United States and abroad, through the use of social media, online marketing, and direct outreach. Tasks may include composing Tweets and blog posts, helping develop RoLa's social media strategy, and communicating with potential clients.

Undergraduate or graduate students with backgrounds in social media and marketing, either from studies or prior work experience, are encouraged to apply. Bilingual Spanish, French, or Portuguese speakers preferred.

CURRICULUM INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

This intern will help develop RoLa’s curriculum for Spanish, French, Portuguese, and E.S.L. classes. Duties will include creating language workbooks, editing existing materials to improve pedagogy, and helping produce long-term strategies for course plans. This internship is ideal not only for aspiring teachers, but also for students interested in educational publishing and curriculum work.

Undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in education and a background in foreign languages or language education — either from studies or prior work experience — are encouraged to apply. Must be fluent in English, as well as either French, Spanish, or Portuguese.

TEACHING & LEARNING INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

Teaching and learning interns will gain valuable hands-on teaching experience in a fun, small group setting, as well as the opportunity to help RoLa improve its teaching methods and classroom engagement. Tasks will include helping teach small-group classes, observing RoLa teachers, offering feedback, and helping refine RoLa’s teacher policies and methodology.

TECHNOLOGY & VIDEO INTERN

Part- or Full-time • Unpaid

Technology interns will help develop RoLa’s multimedia presence and strategy. Tasks include producing and editing videos, audiobooks, web design/maintenance, and working with the Director and Assistant Director to devise new ways to incorporate technology into RoLa’s educational strategy.
