*1 session is 8 weekly classes* Advanced Portuguese is a conversation-based class. This class does not have a book. Advanced language practice through the major events, figures, and cultural shifts that shaped Brazil and Portugal. Students analyze historical texts, discuss key moments from colonization to contemporary politics, and compare how each nation's past influences its identity today. The course emphasizes nuanced conversation, critical thinking, and precise expression while exploring the stories that define the Lusophone world. If a student decides to withdraw from a class, refunds will only be given up to 24 hours before the start date. Due to our small class sizes, a waiting list may exist, so this policy aims to reduce last-minute changes which impact other students' ability to register.
